As a Telugu Wedding DJ team, we have had the opportunity to be part of the weddings in the Telugu community. Most DJs focus on Gujarati or Punjabi weddings. There is no one that focuses on South Indian Hindu weddings. One of the DJ’s on our team is half Telugu and half Tamil. We first started doing Telugu weddings in the Bay Area, California nearly 2 decades ago. Then there was a big demand for them in Texas, followed by Oklahoma. With each Telugu wedding that came to us, we learned more and more about the traditions. Now we have all the correct music to play in the background at ceremonies as well as auspicious times during the wedding.

Sangeet

The sangeet is a North Indian tradition in India. In the last 10 years in America, many Telugu couples have adopted this tradition and made it their own. This is a great idea if you have friends and family that are traveling to come to your wedding. It also helps make the reception less stressful. You can move some of the performances and speeches to this day. This event typically has less people than the reception.

The Baraat

Not all Telugu weddings have a baraat but many do. This is another borrowed North Indian tradition that has been adopted by South Indian couples in America. This becomes the one time the groom gets highlighted during the celebrations. Some grooms come on horse, others choose a vintage or sports car and some even just walk with the guests. This event is all about having fun and getting great outdoor pictures and videos of the groom and his side before the wedding

Telugu Wedding Ceremonies

Telugu weddings are steeped in rich traditions, vibrant rituals, and soulful music. We will share our experiences as Telugu Wedding DJs, highlighting the significance of music in these festivities and how we strive to create an enchanting experience that resonates with the couple, their families, and the cultural essence of Telugu weddings. We understand the importance of preserving and honoring these traditions through music. We carefully curate a soundtrack that includes classic Telugu wedding songs, melodious Carnatic music, and devotional hymns that are an integral part of the wedding ceremonies. We can also play modern music during the ceremony if that is preferred.

Celebrating Regional Diversity

Telugu weddings have their own unique cultural nuances. As a Telugu Wedding DJ team, we embrace this regional diversity and play music that reflects the musical richness of different parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. From traditional Telugu folk songs to popular film music, we strive to incorporate a mix of music that represents the heritage of the couple and their families. This celebration of regional diversity fosters a sense of pride and joy of sharing cultural roots through music.

Reception

A Telugu wedding reception will have lively dances, fun celebrations, and joyful moments. As Telugu Wedding DJs, we aim to create an energetic ambiance by curating a soundtrack that includes popular Tollywood hits, peppy folk songs, and contemporary dance tracks. The music sets the stage for turning moments into memories. By seamlessly blending songs and engaging the crowd, we ensure that the dance floor remains alive and every guest is encouraged to celebrate the spirit of the event.
