As a Mallu Wedding DJ team, we have had the privilege of being part of hundreds of receptions that reflect the rich cultural heritage of Kerala. Mallu weddings are known for their rituals, traditions, and epic receptions. We will share a few of the Mallu Weddings we have done. There is a high significance of importance for music in these receptions and we strive to create a magical experience that resonates with the hearts of the couple and their guests.

What do you need to make a Mallu wedding Fun?

The MC has to hype and the DJ has to be great. Period! There are no cutting corners here. The MC has to own the room from start to finish. This includes energetic entrances, smooth transition from one part of the program to the next, interactive games, and keeping the guests focused and paying attention to what’s going on. The DJ has to put on fire tracks during the dance floor. Usually the dance floor music is mainly Current Hip Hop, Rap but also has some Pop, Mallu dance songs and of course some classic throwbacks. Wepay close attention to the crowd, blending songs seamlessly to maintain an energetic dance floor. Some couples want fun and upbeat songs and others want ghetto and ratchet songs. We can do both.

Eric & Tilu wanted the reception to be a non-stop party. With the lighting and music to be on point. We kept the guests entertained the entire night.

How are Mallu weddings different?

Being a Mallu Wedding DJ team is also about preserving and celebrating the cultural roots of Kerala. Some aspects of the reception are similar to American weddings – entrances, first dance, cake cutting, father daughter dance, mother son dance and bouquet toss. The entrances are slightly different because typically parents and siblings also enter during the first set of entrances. Half of the first dances also turn into fun performances from the couple. There is also a reentrance once the couple changes into Indian clothes. The two major differences a Mallu wedding has is the lighting of the lamp and the milk ceremony. We have the appropriate music for all of these occasions.

Do all Mallu weddings have alcohol and lots of dancing?

The short answer is no. Some couples come from very conservative Churches and do not want to serve alcohol at their wedding. Usually these receptions will happen around lunch times. We have done both Lunch and Dinner Mallu receptions that do not serve alcohol and don’t anticipate much dancing. We still make those weddings fun by providing the right music for the events and keep everyone happy and engaged.

Alvin and Rachel’s classy and fun reception. Illustrious entrances, to a breath-taking first dance, and a ballroom that was simply mesmerizing, and of course the epic music that made it a party that no one will forget.

How do we help create the vibe you want?

As a Mallu Wedding DJ team, our goal is to create unforgettable memories for you and your loved ones. We work closely with the bride, groom, and their families to understand their musical preferences and incorporate their personal favorites into the soundtrack of the event. Special requests, surprise performances, and dedications are carefully woven into the musical journey, creating magical moments that leave a lasting impression. Whether it’s the couple’s first dance or the energetic celebration on the dance floor, We strive to make every moment epic and unforgettable by adding the right music to your special day.

Being a Mallu Wedding DJ is a privilege that allows us to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Kerala and create a musical experience that resonates with the hearts of the couple and their guests. It’s a musical journey of traditions, joy, and making memories that last a lifetime.
